Wierd CW-like noise...?

I sometimes get a wierd intermittent buzzing noise like someone keying morse code (badly). It's always on 19 and bleeds over a bit onto 18 and 20. It's really loud and annoying! Any ideas?

I've only heard it since I put up the A-99.

Hmm.. i know that at my house, if i'm parked close to the a/c unit, i will get some noise on ch. 16.

I'm thinking that it must be electrical interference from a nearby apartment - maybe a wireless mouse....

I know that if somebody was using my wireless mouse, it would affect the radio across the street in the mobile. Really made a mess on the base!

Aren't those things regulated by the FCC? I mean, what kind of evil person would ever even consider using a product that does not operate within FCC guidelines ?

RA may be referring to the possibility of one of the "darn hams", sending electronic data over ch 19, as if it was a wireless 56K modem. It's possible to send faxes and other data wireless for free.

You're hearing it on the A99, because your radio has big ears now.
