base or mobile

Been himmin and hawwin for a while now on whether to get a base or a new mobile. How would the transmit and receive comparisons be between. A cobra 2000 base. Or a swp mobile hooked up to a power supply so I could use for a base and a mobile. I would use the A99 for the base antenna. Thanks

Cobra 2000 is the same radio as the Cobra mobile 148, except the 2000 has more bells and whistles, same board,,,,,General Lee works good, more freqs, has echo ect...can be made loud and swing ect....

You could also do what I did when I first got a radio back in January. I used the SWP General Lee for both base and mobile. I just took it out of the truck and set it up in the house with a power supply.

I have a Sparkified General Lee, from Spaky's and performs really well as a mobile and a base, keys low and swings loud and proud,,,get audio

The G. Lee talks just fine with the A-99. Got to Florida and Texas with it barefoot. You shouldn't have any trouble with it at all. At least I know I haven't had any trouble!!
