Antron SWR problems
Alright, I put everything together as the instructions said (never touched the tuning rings) and put it up on the tower about 30' off the ground, came in and checked the SWR and it was pretty high so I tried moving around the tuning rings for awhile while my girlfriend was reading me the SWR every time I changed them.
The lowest I got was to 3 on channel 1 and 3.5 on channel 40, it would not go any lower than that.
I am using the 18' Belden RG-8/X Premium Coax 97% Shield w/ Amphenol PL-259's for the coax.
Need anymore info, I will be glad to put it.

How do you have the antenna up on a tower at 30ft with 18ft of coax?GreenFLameZ wrote: put it up on the tower about 30' off the ground

Oh wow, I didn't even realize that :O sorry... Yeah, so it's about 14-15 feet up. (again sorry about that).
If the antenna is mounted to the side of the tower there lie your problem. Get more coax and put it at the top.GreenFLameZ wrote:Oh wow, I didn't even realize that :O sorry... Yeah, so it's about 14-15 feet up. (again sorry about that).

It is correct that the Antron must be mounted at the top of the pole. Also check the condition of your coax, particularly the ends of your coax. It must be in good shape. My experience is the A99 will tune nicely with the rings roughly 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up the threads. I would get a longer coax and go to the top of the pole, or if the height you've got it is as high as you've got and you were counting the top of the antenna as your overall height, then make sure you're setting up your antenna where the side of it is not against some structure, especially metal.
Good luck, and enjoy yourself.
