Pretty nice
I would guess that the radiation pattern of the 5/8 wave would be due to the three radials at 120°
I bet if you had 4 radials you would see lobes at 90°

An experiment for another day

Gummybear,
Hey, I'm certainly not saying it isn't a good source of information, please don't think that. But it's also not something that you couldn't have gotten right here. Not as 'condensed', all in one place, but I don't remember seeing anything that hasn't been said here before (or on other forums).

You stated my reason for posting this: condensed.

And from a far more creditable source, then just hear say. I am sorry but others will agree that too much misinformation floats around about CB radio as a whole. I know most have good intentions, but very rarely do I see proof by link to arrl or some other well known source. I know my post is not a well known source but why would they lie? It is a funded study done by students overlooked by their professor.

and I thought the graphs of radiation patterns to be useful but hey....

the arrl goes of of tests in a lab...I prefer REAL WORLD tests. I have seen plenty of people argue with REAL WORLD experiences, because they read it is some **Censored** book

I am not trying to argue junkie, i was explaining myself to 'doc. I will say there are members who really know the dope on CB, but not all of them. If they did no one would argue about "how to" as much as they do.

And for people that really don't know it is hard to tell who is right.
