purchasing a new radio

My radio went poof in the night and i am in the market for an inexpensive radio. Is the Midland 77-250 cxl a good option?? i haven't been able to find any reviews on it. any help would certainly be appreciated.

Not really a bad Midland, can be tuned up well, and there are mods to make it a screamer,,in one of my books it talks on some mods that make that radio a big sounding radio, I had one for a while and all I did was a Peak and Tune,,and for a standard CB I liked it

Midland still sells radios? Just Kidding. Buy a Uniden Pro 510, tune it up, cheap, easy, and it talks!

yea the Uniden pro 510 is my favorite small cb,,,you can get about 14-15watts out of them

what about the Galaxy 919?? is this a descent radio for a mobile set up??

yep,,,919 is a good 40 channel Galaxy,,,tunes well,,remember when you buy it, most places charge you extra for the Peak and Tune, so consider that ,,,Spaky's Alignment with Peak and tune are included for the price,,,That radio is based on Cobra 29 chassis,,,good radio

so do you think it would be just as good to go with the cobra 29 classic?? From sparky's of course. would they install a roger beep to if i bought one and include that in the price??

Radio Algebra:
small radio = small price < get a SWP General Lee and be done with wondering how your radio is performing.

If there is the slightest chance that you will find yourself wondering, after you try another small radio, what a big radio with great receive would be like...just sit tight save your money and shoot for the stars when your ready. Simply get a cheap used radio while you save up.

If you are one of those people, whom I can't understand, who can be happy with a Uniden, go with RA's advice.

Sparky has a few different kinds of roger beepers, but imho i fing them quite annoying to say the least!

Stay away from the top gun stuff thou, i have that in my magnum! The echo board is ok, but its not worth putting in a radio that doesnt have it! Same thing with the modulator, its rather slow reacting! If u do think u wanna try these things out i would gladly trade my magnum for a nice cheap cobra or uniden radio! Just so id save u some money

Actually in some areas the unidens and cobras prevail, yes ive been reading instead of hassling u guys with postsss!
