well i went today "Saturday Oct. 12th" and scored a ice little backup hf rig, the old ft840 and a 80 meter dipole, both for 200 bucks.
rig only needed a meter light which i provided, rig is also MARS modded already, i ran it all night, it has full output and is right on freq.

Hey..

Always a lot of good stuff at hamfests/tailgates.

I've gotten out of many of them with a lot of things on my 'bucket' list.

If you hear of one in your neighborhood....make it a point to go....you just might be surprised.

When going to a hamfest/tailgaters swap, be sure to check under the tables, I always find stuff I've been looking for for years. NH is a little bit of a drive for me or I'd be there. Last one this year in Maryland for me is the Mason Dixon Hamfest, October 26 2014, http://www.qis.net/~k3pzn/hamfest.html .
