It will work. Many people use the Antron99 in just that way. In fact, in years passed when I traveled in an RV I used exactly that setup for my station switching off from a mobile antenna when I parked to the A99 on a 20' push-up pole. However, it is best to get it as high as you can. I suggest that you use a choke made of 5 -6 wraps of your coax around a 4" piece of PVC ( a PVC coupler works well) just beneath the feedpoint of your antenna (that is, where the coax fastens to your A99). Get hooked up and have fun.

Yep...Do exactly as HomerBB had said and you it will do a nice job for you. I ran an A-99 for about 15 years and the only minor issue they sometimes have (unless they have improved this over the years) is that the coating over the fibreglass can wear off due to weather. I took mine down at about 7 years and again a couple years later and sprayed a few coats of Krylon paint on it. I have heard that there is a spray paint for fibreglass boats that works even better and probably lasts longer too. I suspect that this could happen to any of the fibreglass antennas. I have an Imax up about 4 years now.... so I guess I'll see in a few years.
