I have a 2010 Ram Laramie and just got a moded out Uniden 78 Elite. I bought an antenna set-up for a fender mount from Walcott and they said their Dodge Ram Mount for 2004 +up should work on my 2010. Well it doesnt. It only works on 3rd generation Rams.
Does anyone have a 2009 or 2010 that installed an antenna? And if so How did you do it? Im limited as to my installation options. I have a fiberglass cover over my bed which covers my rails too.. so I cant use my bed for mounting and I rather not mount on the roof because of the height... I live in NYC and I will have to take off the antenna every other block. I know about the wilson 1000 magnetic mount but was hoping someone knew or knows of a fender mount made for the 2009 or 2010 Truck... or does anyone know of someone who can fabricate one?

You have the option of mounting an antenna on the hood or fender, there are several ways of doing so without it being very noticeable. I'm not familiar with how the edges of the hood/fender are shaped, etc, so can't say much about that part. I can say that making those 'edges' into mounting points is certainly 'do-able', depending on the particular antenna you want to use. If that antenna is very 'big', you might as well count on drilling a hole to mount it. Hey, people get 'piercings', why can't a car/truck??
