Yes, paint will not effect the antenna performance. Do not get paint inside the coax connection.
What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
And don't use paint that has any metallic content. It tends to make contacts where contacts shouldn't be.

to the best of my knowledge, there is no metallic content in pink...

I read somewhere that painting an antenna pink improves gain by up to 6dB. It's also a lot louder.'Doc wrote:And don't use paint that has any metallic content. It tends to make contacts where contacts shouldn't be.

Hummm....Learn something new every day! Just wondering, which brand of pink paint to get? Would Krylon be OK? or should I go with something like Rust-oleum???....Wonder how well Hot Pink would work?...Or Safty Orange?'Doc wrote:Red Warrior,

Now there's an idea, I can paint mine pink and run around telling everybody it's good for 6 db of gain. Just imagine, yeah sounds like a plan all black truck and black toolbox, dark windows with a pink antenna. It would make for a conversation starter as well!

Well the first thing I notice is the antenna is not pink! If it's not pink you are wasting gain! Come on get with the program!403 wrote:Well i painted it and there seem to be no problem well thanks for the replys guys here is a pic.
