Never ran the Bad Boy T-Top, but Cowtown Antenna's came out with what was called a Predator 10K Flat-Side once, which is basically the same design as the T-Top, and the one I have, more or less preformed the same as a regular vertical 10K. The only advantage I seen between the Flat-Side and the regular vertical 10K's was by having the stinger horizontal, instead of vertical, it reduced the height of the antenna more, so if someone had clearance issues I could see where they may want to try a Flat-Side (or horizontal stinger) type antenna...

So to answer your question, it should be omni if mounted in the center of your roof...

As tall as the R4 is, I doubt they would be able to hold a candle stick to one! I have two R4's on my Suburban, and those things Rock! They are tall tho...When I'm running the 10K's, I don't hardly ever hit any low hanging tree limbs, but with the 55's, I hit everything from tree branch's to low telephone lines...

Not to knock the T-Tops, I'm sure there a good antenna, I just haven't seen any real benefit of running a vertical antenna that has a horizontal stinger, over the regular vertical antenna's with the same coil design.
