base antenna for apartment
my idean is to use a 25' pole with a white fiberglass whip on top. mybuddy thinks it will work but Ithink I will need horizontal elements at the bottom to provide a ground plane.

If you can get away with it, just throw up an A99 or Imax. Neither require ground plane radial.

You can search back thru some of my old posts for a picture , but I had an Imax bolted to a Wooden Telephone Pole no radials of any sort.
Got it up just in time for the first DX Fest we had here. Mother Nature was on my side that day.
Had contacts all over in DX Land.
