Sirio SY27-4 4 Element Beam
Anyone know of anyone using this beam antenna?
Sirio SY27-4 4 Element Beam
It looks appealing in price for a small beam on a small tv rotor application

Well we just got in the 4 element yagi and wanted to just take a quick look at it.
Looks like the brackets for spacing is already mounted on the boom for you .
There are several lots of parts bagged very well for each element and they include the Allen screw you need to assemble elements to the boom.
Dimensions for the elements are metric so you need to know how to convert to inches unless you have a metric tape measure .
Looks like all the holes for screws lineup perfectly and antenna is already preset on length of each element.
I don't know what performance will be but it has to be OK compared to a vertical antenna .Time will tell but looks like
for 139.99 + 17.00 shipping it looks real good
I would recommend Lock tite on all screws including Allen screws once you have antenna put together...

Basically took me 30 minutes to put it together. Now we have to wait to put it up at its final resting spot. Yes it will be horizontal as well so other antennas can be used on same mast.doctor wrote:I hear they are great <read about the usage>, swr is great out of the box, stand up in storms, and a great antenna for dx. A friend also has one, as your pics point out just add, lot of assembly is done for you. He has his on the flat side .

I just have to slip the elements back into the boom brackets and re tighten the match but at 9 ft off the ground we did hear the east coast near Long Island at s-7 solid .SWR was very good but that was at 9 ft and using some old RG 213 coax .Even at 9 ft off the ground it was slightly stronger than the 5/8 wave ground plane on receive s-6-7 that is up 15 ft at base of antenna and 37 ft high total .

Man...it took me 2 nights and 1 afternoon to put my m103 together! I wish they had a better way to line up my elements on the boom. I think my reflector is slightly off center which causes my front-back to drop. But I can't complain about the gain...I'm competing with 12 pill mobiles running only 400 bird!

Ok side mounted my sirio 4 element beam at 14 ft off the ground pointed toward Northeast. Compared signals on 38 lsb with my IMAX 2000 up at 14 ft at base 38 ft at the top .
Several times little or no signal on the IMAX 2000 its s3-s7 on the beam . But on the average its about 2 s units difference .
This is not a fair test as the beam is horizontal polarity and its not up at 36 ft or higher yet.
So for a 139.99 4 element beam antenna the 4 element SIRIO I give a solid 9+

Its not a real radio unless it has tubes and USB/LSB on the front panel ....
Ya know, I have seen this thread before but must have missed the pictures.
I can tell you from the pictures that the quality of the beam looks nicer in pics than a Maco looks.
For the price I don't think it can be beat, at all.
You got me curious now, dang it, lol. It'd look good on about a 20 ft piece of pipe in my back yard away from my tower and other antennas.
Got any real-life pics of it in the air?
