11 meter conduit dipole for 7 dollars

#214170

Post by Grump »

I'm in the process of building a dipole i found on the internet out of conduit I just got back from the store where I picked it up at and it was a total of seven dollars for two peices of conduit and a peice of dowel rod to tie the conduit together. I ran the numbers on a antenna calculator that is on the internet and it said for channel 20 to cut my poles at 8 foot 7&7/32 inches does this sound right

Hey Grump, I'm wondering about that conduit dipole you have going on. Is it to be mounted horizontal or vertically? If vertical, I suppose you'd mount it just like any other antenna?

It can be mounted either If you want I'll take pics and post them of what it looks like after I get it mounted. You mount it from the dowel in the middle

You may find that the conduit's size will cause it to be a little shorter than a wire one, but hooking it up first will tell you. You can always cut as needed. -drdx

Yea....I'd like to see pics after it's done and reports of swr and how well it does on the tx and rx end of things, too. No doubt.
