MJF 108 inch SS whip
Has any one tried the MJF true 108 inch whip for use without the spring. I am curious about the weight of the antenna. I have some issues with running the 102 inch whip and spring on my Subaru Forester. The ball mount is on the passanger rear fender. The fender will flex with the spring and 102 inch whip. I had orginally believed it was the weight of the antenna, but recently I discovered it it the added weight of the spring. Everything works great with the current setup using the 5 1/2 foot Francis with 6 inch spring, but I just want to be able to use the big whip. I am having an auto body guy, brother-in-law, make a metal reenforcement for the inside of the rear fender to prevent the flexion of the fender.

Thanks guys. You answered what I needed to know. I think the B r e e d l ov e Mount will be my best solution. They will not be available until March. The added support and counter balance from the pinned all brass ball mount and backing plate should do the job. By the time I pay to have the 108 incher shipped I dealt out half the cost on the custom made mount. i was hoping it was nice and light. What I have learned from playing the whats the best antenna game is if you are running power, have the roof or hood from mounting and do not have a tree limb problem the go with the 10K. If you have a tree limb, off road factor- the 102 is ideal. 'Don't what to start a debate , just laying down an opinion. The will go on forever like who built the better small block V8.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
