Welcome to the electromagnetic ground issues
what makes you think its grounded
i can hook my suburban to your magmount and key up
watch what happens
its trying to find a ground or path of less resistance
a magmount is not a true ground
just attach the sheild to the plate and see if it helps
if not then run a ground strap from there to the inside on a trunk lid bolt
shine it up
if that dont work then run a strap from both trunk lid mounts
and go to each side of frame
did you raise the antenna brace up from the magnets
any change

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone

All he has to do, is run the ground braid of the coax to the Tri Mount, and be done with it...Yes..."Electromagnetic Ground".
Two ways to do it... 1, would be to drill a hole in the Tri Mag platform and use a screw and nut to attach the braid, or a self tapping screw....or 2. would be to loosen one of the magnets and run the braid between the magnet and the platform and tighten back down...either way will work.
Then it will ground the same-way his Wilson Magnet Mount works...Electromagnetic Ground...not the best, but it works!

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
