RG-213U Coax

I just picked up a 36' length with the PL259's on it. This coax should be OK with an A-99? Yes, I'm an antenna dummy.

If it's long enough to reach from the antenna to the radio, it ought'a work just fine.

(if it's too short, it ain't gonna work too well)

That's great coax. As Doc said, if the length is good, then you're good. RG213 is one of my favorites.

I'm with Linx on this. Great stuff, high power capability and non-contaminating. This is a terrific feature as in concerns coax contaminating itself after long periods on an ion exchange basis. After years some coaxes will break down and the dielectric portion will take on minute elements of the outer braid and inner cu rendering a not so 50 ohm coax any longer.
The 213 while not impervious to this process (entropy effect....everything eventually turns to junk) will outlast most (unless the woodchuck chews through it....sigh).

Only in my one long run situation where I use a type of 9913, all my stuff 100' from the house is 213. Ahem....A-99 on the shed is fed with rg8x...60' run.

proud of you
at least you not running a antron 99 on a pvc pipe
with mini8 and running 500 to 900 watts thru it and he wonders why he kills his neigbors

Thanks guys. I was just hoping that the coax wasn't supposed to be used for ham antennas only. Now all I need is to get rid of this -5 degrees outside and pump it up to 50 or 60 to melt the snow/ice on my roof!

Good luck Bob! I've heard the weather up that way has been rough. Good to see you back on here a little more frequently. :)

The weather here finally got good enough for me to install the new coax. The temp went up to 40 and the winds went below 40 for a change. Got 'er installed, checked the SWR and it was FLAT as a pancake. My meter doesn't even move when I key up. Looks like I'm back in action!

Uh oh, didn't think of that. It IS only for ham antennas! So I think you should bundle it all up and send it to me.

(that's not gonna work, is it? Oh well, I tried...)
