The Antenna farm dot com has good prices as well. Only problem that i had with them is it took 18 days to get the order of 9913. When i called them they said, didn't you get our Email that it was out of stock. No i didn't. Well its in stock now and if you order from them you would probably get it in a week.
Hope this helps.

the 213 is whaat i use great stuff just a little stiff, if your not running any power then try just a step up from the 59, if you want a even more shielded coax go up to LMR 400 that stuff is almost a half inch thick but had great inculation and conductor

They won't have it for long. Thanks for the update, I'll have to drive over there this week. I've been shopping there for about 25 years off and on. Those guys are jerks but they do have what you need now and then and I like to take my 3 year old in there so he can buy a coke from their old coke machine and run around making them nervous. He loves knobs, I just have to get him to mimic my ham call and not "dollar-98" when we're in the store. My 7 year old's job there is to wreck the magazine and book rack and he does that well being a new reader. My kids CANNOT resist a microphone, let alone a full display of them.

About the power handling ability of coax.
Most coax, if used to feed a resonant antenna, will handle around 500 - 1000 watts just fine. Depends on how well the antenna is matched. Some 'over-head' room is always nice to have, so going a 'size' or two extra isn't going to hurt. RG-8 will typically handle 1500 watts if it doesn't have to tend with much SWR, which means close to something like 1.5:1. The higher the SWR goes, the less power handling ability, with -any/all- coax, including LMR's and Andrew's stuff!

LMR 240 is some good stuff. I bought some from Texas Towers a couple of years ago. But word of warning...If you order this stuff, be sure to order the connectors for it at the same time, because it uses a odd size reducer sleeve.plutonium233 wrote:Ok thanks, I was looking at the site above at the power/attenuation charts, and I was wondering if LMR 240 would work. I like it since it is a good bit thinner and cheaper but it is rated at a little less power. I was wondering if RG-8U Foam would work as well. It is cheaper but it is a bit larger.
Also...word of advice if your ordering from Texas Towers...Don't tell them your wanting the coax for "CB Use"...Or you will quickly get the cold-shoulder, and they will probably tell you they are "Out of Stock" on whatever your trying to order. They mainly cater to Ham's, and if you mention the word "CB" if the price doesn't go up on the product, it will be out of stock as for as your concered...

And if they ask for your call sign (which they sometimes do) just say your buying for a friend, or relitive...

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
