? about Yagi Beam.

can you mount 2 Yagi 3 element beams on the same boom? One horizontally and the other Vertically. Will doing this cause problems or would I be better off getting a quad?

Why not just buy a quagi like a Moonraker or a Maco Shooting Star? Both beams are vertical and horizontal polarization and they have 2 different coax runs for each beam. Either use a switch to swtich from flat to vertical or just unscrew one coax and screw in the other.

I wouldn't run 2 beams. Maco makes some other nice big beams like the big 6 (12) element deals like the Laser's.

BTW, you could do it but not use both at the same time. Just seems more sensable to buy a quagi beam.

Thanks for the reply. I will just go for the quad style. It does make the most sense. A few of the locals around here were telling me that the two yagi's would be cheaper but I think in the long run I would be better off.
The Maco Comet looks like it would fit nicely here at my home 20. Now the search for a Tower is on. 73's

Maco makes a six element beam that is three elements vertical and three elements horzontal.
Requires two coax runs or some sort of an antenna switch near the antenna to switch back and forth.
Two runs of coax into a switch box (like the Dosy A-SW-4) will allow you to run Vert, Horz, or both.

It is nothing more than a Maco 103 with three more elements on the same boom in the other polorazation.

Yes ... you can add a reflector, a driven, and a director element to an existing three element beam if the boom is long enough to allow that.
