new setup with dm 2x4, 102?

Maybe I'm just a dumb mudduck but if you are heating up a stainless steel 102 whip to where it get britle then if you are using a wilson 1000 then don't you think that the coil in that plastic isn't getting hot enough to break inside. Also I would rather be able to see my antenna break then not knowing screwing up my radio or amp also I'm a dumb mudduck but is that kind of heat possible sounds to me something was wrong cause if it generated that kind of heat wouldn't it melt the coax or solder. I've never ran power so don't know just wondering.
