i run a 8 pill and a 2 pill that he built for me. after he built my amps, I was so impressed that I sent all of my radios for him to tune. I have nothing but top notch compliments on the radios and amps. he now does all of my radio work and i won let anyone else touch any of my equipment but zman350 from now on out. His has helped me out with any questions i have had and kept me informed as he was building my amps. He even sent pictures as he built the amps so that i could see each step of the process. I dont know of anyone that has his quality of service. Hope this answers your questions and you can pm me if you need more info.
there are some brand names that set the standard of quality and performance by which all others are judged.

Question's I have about the antenna's, is it looks like the coil is just held on to the shaft with self-taping screws, which could vibrate loose after a while...and being copper, what keeps it from oxidizing and turning green? Is the antenna spray painted with clear coat or something?

the coil is torch brazed on the shaft, screws are there just to hold it in place while its being brazed,i use copper colored mettallic paint so they dont turn.
my girlfriend ask me to choose between her and cb radio,i told that *&**& that i had made tougher decisions at the coke machine.

So I take it the antenna's are aluminum, and not copper then?zman350 wrote:the coil is torch brazed on the shaft, screws are there just to hold it in place while its being brazed,i use copper colored mettallic paint so they dont turn.
Just wondering...How well does that paint hold up on aluminum (if the antennas are aluminum) Because I have tried spray paint on some 10K's before, and after a while, the paint would chip, and fade...I do know a couple of guys that have had antenna's powder coated, and had better luck as for as chipping go's, but the color still ended up fading after a few months of being out in the weather...

Because it's heavy, soft, and bends easy, and carrods...There has been several builders use it before, but unless it's coated in something you get problems after it's been out in the weather for a while..."Silver" would be a better choice, but cost would be unreal!Grump wrote:Copper why hasn't anyone used this before awesome conductor
There is a guy that will "Silver-Plate" a aluminum antenna, which is suppose to make a aluminum antenna act as if it were made from silver. Silver plating is suppose to give the antenna a skin effect like it was all silver.

i bet you my antennas weigh no more than a aluminum of the same size, bending, you would have to about run over it with a truck for it to bend.as far as coating i do coat mine.
